Leadership Insights for Startup Operators
Step into the minds of those who've mastered the chaos of startup operations. The Critical Shift Podcast delivers focused audio explorations of the leadership transitions that matter most.
Listen in as I unpack my raw insights from scaling unicorns like Uber and DoorDash, dive into the mindset shifts that transformed my own leadership journey, and occasionally interview fellow operations executives who've successfully navigated the toughest transitions.
No 60-minute rambles. No leadership fluff. Just concentrated wisdom for the moments that define your trajectory as a leader—delivered in a format that fits your busy schedule.
Your next level has a next level. Let's find it together.
Past Project: Conversations on Capitalism and Climate Tech with Founders and Operators
From 2022-2024, I co-hosted the Climate Mayhem Podcast with Jakub Kubicka, exploring the intersection of capitalism and climate action through conversations with the operators doing it.
We interviewed founders, investors, and operators from companies like Impossible Foods, EVgo, Cloud Paper (now Save Trees), and DroneSeed (now Mast Reforestation)—uncovering the leadership challenges unique to scaling climate tech ventures and testing our hypothesis that profit-driven innovation is essential to planetary restoration.
While this project is currently on hiatus, the episodes provide valuable insights for both climate tech leaders and operations executives navigating purpose-driven businesses.
Past Project: Marketplace Leadership Insights
My first podcast with Jakub Kubicka explored the operational challenges of scaling two-sided marketplaces. We interviewed leaders from Uber, Convoy, and Rover, tackling the classic "chicken and egg" dilemma of supply versus demand.
Our standout episode featured Matt Kurman, an early Convoy employee, sharing insights on scaling B2B freight marketplaces from scratch.
Though no longer active, these conversations have a ton of valuable insights for all types of operators and leaders.
